Win Again, AS Roma Warms Up Competition in the Top Serie A

AS Roma beat Hellas Verona 3-1 and moved up to third in the Italian League standings.

ROME - AS Roma did not take long to leave the top four of the Italian Serie A after being kicked out by Napoli. Roma returned to the top four, even occupying third place, after beating Hellas Verona 3-1 in the 20th matchday at the Stadio Olimpico, Rome, Monday (1/2) early morning WIB.

This is Roma's second victory after losing to the capital derby from Lazio. This victory at the same time warms up the top competition of the Italian Serie ALiga.

Three additional points ensure Roma displace Juventus in third place in the standings. Paulo Fonseca's men have 40 points from 12 wins, four draws and four defeats.

I Lupi is six points adrift of first place led by AC Milan and four points from Inter Milan in second place. Roma are only one point ahead of Juventus who sit in fourth seat. The Old Lady has only played 19 times, aka she still has one more match left. Likewise with Napoli, who dropped to fifth because Roma won, with 37 points from 19 matches.

Rome's revenge mission for the defeat with Verona in the first half of the season was rewarded. The three goals of the Giallorossi were scored by Gianluca Mancini in the 20th minute, Henrikh Mkhitaryan in the 22nd minute and Borja Mayoral in the 29th minute.

While Verona was only able to reduce the position to 1-3 through Ebrima Colley's goal in the 62nd minute. There were no additional goals, a landslide score for the hosts' advantage lasted until the long whistle sounded.

For Verona this result emphasizes the inconsistency of their game in every match. Because in the last five matches Verona have swallowed two defeats, two wins and a draw.

Ivan Juric's fleet is currently in ninth place in the standings with 30 points from the 20 matches that have been played.
