20-year-old rookie Williams turns regular to join Thunder lineup


The Oklahoma City Thunder officially announced today that it has officially signed 20-year-old forward Jaylin Williams to a rookie contract, and Williams will play for the Thunder next season.


Williams was a regular in the starting lineup during the most recent college season, averaging 10.9 points and 9.8 rebounds per game. He was selected by the Thunder with the 34th overall pick in last month's league draft, the first player of Vietnamese descent in league history.


The Thunder today decided to offer this second-round pick a four-year, $8.2 million rookie. According to the specific terms of this rookie contract, Williams has obtained some non-taxpayer middle-class exceptions, and will receive a guarantee of $2 million for the first two seasons, and the last two seasons are player options. Williams will also appear in the league this coming season.
