Arsenal Midfielder Shocked by Gabriel Jesus' Impact on Team
2022-08-04 16:39LONDON - Arsenal midfielder Emile Smith Rowe said he was surprised by the impact of the arrival of his new team-mate, Gabriel Jesus. Smith Rowe impressed the former Manchester City striker during the Gunners' pre-season tour.
He said he was not surprised at Arsenal players returning from loan because they already knew their qualities. But he was surprised at Jesus' game. He did not expect to see the sharpness of Jesus in every Arsenal game.
"Obviously playing against him is different, you saw him watching Man City before. But when you actually see it in training. I've told my friends, they always ask, and I'm like 'he doesn't make sense'," he said as quoted by Tribalfootball, Wednesday (3/8/2022).
He also revealed how the condition of the team ahead of the new season rolling. "Everyone at Arsenal is excited to start the 2022/2023 season," he said. Even with their fans, they can't wait to watch Arsenal play in the new season.
Jesus has impressed since arriving at Arsenal this summer from Manchester City. During the pre-season tour, the Brazil international did not seem to need time to adapt to Arsenal's game, which was led by coach Mikel Arteta.
Jesus almost always scores in Arsenal's pre-season games. He even scored a hat trick against Sevilla. Seeing the influence and sharpness of Jesus on the front lines, it is estimated that Arsenal will be able to compete more competitively in the 2022/2203 season.
During his time at City, Jesus has shown his qualities as a sharp striker despite having spent several years under the shadow of Sergio Aguero. Aguero's departure then made him often played by Pep Guardiola. But he finally left because he was not always the first choice.
