MANCHESTER -- The future of Cristiano Ronaldo has become a hot topic discussed in recent weeks. He continues to be rumored to be leaving Manchester United (MU).

The Red Devils have just completed a pre-season tour of Thailand and Australia. Ronaldo was not involved in the agenda. The reason is because there are family issues that must be resolved.

Earlier this week, he headed to the club's training base in Carrington. Ronaldo and his agent, Jorge Mendes, met coach Erik ten Hag there. Sir Alex Ferguson was also seen at the facility complex.

"United confirms that the legendary boss of the Red Devils was there on other business. But this is an unusual coincidence, especially considering the role he played in convincing Ronaldo to return to Old Trafford, last summer," the report was quoted as saying by the Mirror, Wednesday (27/7/2022).

On Tuesday (26/7/2022), CR7 was in Carrington until five in the afternoon, local time. They seem to be having a very serious conversation. He then left the Red Devils training complex through the back door.

MU wants to maintain their mainstay. The club has repeatedly insisted that Ronaldo will not be released. However, this scenario is difficult to become a reality.

"Ten Hag was unable to change the attacker's mind at the meeting," added the report from the Mirror.

Ronaldo reportedly remains determined to leave. He wants to join a club that is challenging the title race. Now the Red Devils are considering loaning the former Real Madrid to another club.

But Ronaldo's contract at Old Trafford has one year remaining. Therefore, they are looking for the best solution for all parties.
